Really, I learnt quite a lot during this trip to Bangkok, something I never noticed on my previous trips there.

For the people there, life can be just so simple.
Everyday, it's a routine.
They do the same things, speak the same words.
Yet the people are happy with the simplest of things.
They don't need expensive cars or luxurious apartments to keep them entertained, all they need are their friends and family around them, they survive quite comfortably with just enough.

I was then reminded of my life in Singapore.
How I can live the way I want, without any worries about my next meal, or where I'm going to sleep at night.
How lucky we are, to be here in Singapore, yet so many of us don't realise how fortunate we are to be staying here in Singapore, where we don't need to worry about our stuff getting stolen on the streets...

Life there is more than just working and getting to the top, getting recognised world wide for your abilities.
Sometimes, in this fast paced society, we fail to see that there is another side to life.

Things aren't as simple as we think they are sometimes.
Sometimes, you just need to notice the little details in between and work it out.

What you think is going to happen may not come true, because humans don't know their future.
We can't create anything.
We aren't the creators.
We are the supporters, the co-workers.
We are living creatures, the created.

Sometimes we rush ahead of ourselves, thinking we can do things better, without any help.
But the truth stands before us. We can't.
We can only support creation, but not create.
Cause only someone pure and true can create.

Its true.
When you walk close to a perfect Person, you realise how insignificant you are.
How weak you are.
How proud you are.

But, despite that, he doesn't despise you.
He picks you up.
He doesn't need you, cause he's perfect, but yet he wants you.
Cause at the end of this Zero Time, he wants to spend eternity with you.
He didn't need to go on the cross for you, but he still went, despite not knowing whether or not you would reject him.

Yet, in spite of everything, he forgives.
He turns weakness into meekness.
He turns arrogance into humility.
He turns fear into faith.
He turns uselessness into service.

Cause when you've experienced the best, you just can't settle for anything less.
He's the best.

How quickly time passes by.
It seems like yesterday was only the first day of Sec 4 life, now I'm already waiting for my results to be out.

Everyone seems anxious.
I guess it should be that way.
But then, somehow, I don't really feel the anxiety of it all.
Maybe cause I know that someone is there to see me through.
That no matter what I get, it doesn't really matter to him, cause all he needs is my heart, committed to him.
And he will do the rest.
Yes, he will.

I know which school I want to go to.
I yearn for it.
But then, it's not up to me to decide where to go.
I can't make a decision like this so hastily.
We don't know the future, but it has already been.
It was already written in my Book of life.
He gets the final decision on where I'm going.
Yes, he does.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A year has come and gone.
But have we moved on?
The past is past.
And the future's ahead of us.
With courage we will face,
With faith we will ace,
A year of growth and maturity.

How will you face the new year?
Sure, it's uncertain times right now and it isn't exactly the best way to start a new year, but that's reality.
I believe that it is courage and faith that will take us through this new year.
Someone once said this, "Courage is not the absence of fear, but in spite of fear, courage is the knowledge that there is something else more important than fear itself."
New year, new times, new strength, new people, new hope.

I too, don't know what's going to happen in this new year, but I want to believe that everything will turn out right in the end, that this year is going to be the best year yet in all of my 16 years of living.
Instead of hesistating, I'd rather take on this challenge and enjoy it, do it to the best of my abilities.

There are many things I'd like to see and do this new year, I've set the goals and ambitions for myself, but I know that I alone won't be able to do it at all.
I'd need the help of my Friend.
I've been given a new hope for the new year.
And I'll live it out.
